Driving to Balangiga

The San Juanico bridge connects Leyte and Samar Island. It is ca 35mins away from Tacloban City downtown. Both  Leyte and Samar are strewn with small Cities and towns. Traffic is not issue except when driving in Tacloban's downtown area.

While driving one can witness the most quaint scenes like these girls enjoying a Carabaw ride.

Nearing the Town of Marabut we saw this by the roadside. Its a Bamboo fighting ring arena. Dozens of local men cramped into skeletal structure to watch the cockfight.

Cock fighting and betting is one of the most popular recreational activities here in the Philippines. Figure the photo :)

Generally function hall and school building you find during the drive look like these.

In the vicinity of Marabot. Marabot is known for its mountain ridge roads and mangroves, lagoons and beaches.

Stopping over for a quick roadside break.

In Balangiga Vicinity

This road already belongs to Balangiga and leads straight into the Town's Center and is lines by rice fields and mountains.
